The Wolfsbergerhütte is located at 1,850m and is visible to hikers from afar. It blends majestically into the beautiful panorama of the Saualpe. Almost at the top, you are literally drawn to the hut to enjoy the view during a leisurely rest. According to Mr. Bester, the landlord of the Wolfsbergerhütte, it is above all the peace and quiet that draws people to this gentle area. You can simply switch off and relax here.
Richard Bester has been running the hut since 2001 and took over the Wolfsbergerhütte 10 years ago. Thanks to his many years of experience and his cordial manner, he gives the hut a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere, which is very popular with guests. For Bester, there is nothing better than working on the mountain pasture, enjoying the fresh air and chatting with his guests. Despite being down to earth, he can no longer imagine life in the valley.
The Wolfsbergerhütte is located in the middle of the Saualpe family and children’s hiking area, which means that the hiking trails around the hut are also suitable for older people and children. Hiking with children up high is therefore an unforgettable family experience. There are countless small circular hiking trails to various huts, such as the Steinerhütte or Druckerhütte. Long-distance hikers have the option of tackling the Eisenwurzenweg, the Lavanttaler-Höhenweg or the Südalpen-Panoramaweg or hiking to Mariazell.
Guests are also offered a wide range of regional culinary products. It often happens that regular guests discover mushrooms on their way to the hut and bring them back with them. The mushrooms are then combined with dishes from the menu. Only natural products are used and cooked at the Wolfsbergerhütte, and you can taste it. Together with the breathtaking landscape, Wolfsbergerhütte is worth a stop for every hiker.
