There are many good reasons for a trip to the Druckerhütte. Firstly, of course, its easy accessibility by car and its perfect location at the starting point of many worthwhile hiking destinations on the Saualm – such as the Große and Kleine Sauofen, the Ladingerspitz or the Gertrusk. Just a five-minute walk away, you can discover mysterious sights such as the “Kupplerbrunn” spring sanctuary, the early Stone Age cult stone “Toter Hengstofen” or the Kugelfichte natural monument. And in winter, you can go skiing at the Steinerhütte, just a few minutes’ walk away, or climb the peaks on snowshoes.

And yet many do not come to be active, but to the restaurant itself. And that has a lot to do with Heinz Felfernig. He has been the friendly landlord of the hut for 23 years and there is no mistaking it: his work is a matter close to his heart. He enjoys the fresh air and the contact with his guests. Heinz Felfernig himself is the best ambassador of the Alm feeling. Everyone is the same up here. When you sit together at a table, you are free of prejudices, you say “you” and listen to each other. “I simply enjoy my work – and the guests notice that too,” says the host of the Druckerhütten.
Delicious home cooking.
After hiking, guests naturally also appreciate the down-to-earth cuisine with fine home-made delicacies such as Kasnudeln, Fleischnudeln or roast pork. And last but not least: The wonderful peace and quiet up here, high above the Görtschitztal valley. The saying “Come up to come down” describes the atmosphere at the Druckerhütte to a tee. The focus here is on relaxation and enjoyment.
